You control a variety of settings when you allow consumer registration on your web site.
The most important one is "Requires Manager Approval". You should read through this article to make an informed decision on all the "member" and registration options.
PREFACE: The word "member" in TennisConnect means member of the
web site.
- Some TennisConnect customers are private clubs (members only), and naturally they require manager approval and usually set the most restrictive "Community" settings.
- For others (Parks, CTA's, Facilities, Providers that are "open to the public") the word "member" strictly means web site member.
Member Types control advance court reservation privileges and TennisCollect event and Court Fee pricing rules, and are frequently used by CTA's and other membership organizations to enforce access to Members Only Pages.
Please also read through the System Generated Emails Article to understand the immediate confirmation emails that are sent to new registrants.
Registration Options (web site registration)
On the Horizontal Navigation Bar go to
Basic Settings | TennisConnect Basics | Option # 8 - Registration Settings
Requires Manager Approval: determines if you allow registration in real-time where newly registered members have all the privileges associated with your newly registered Default Member Type , or if they are in a "Pending" status until you approve them. If you check this box, you will see the Approve Members link is highlighted at Basic Settings | Contact Manager | Approve Members (where you can approve or decline new registrations and presumably assign their "permanent" member type).
Read the article about Approving Members
Make my Members Private: is a control that allows you to set the default for your members "visibility" on other community web sites. Your member is still in control of "who" can "see" then and invite them to play tennis, join a network or a buddy list. This control simply sets the "default" privacy setting.
TennisConnect cannot advise you on these settings, but we can tell you that most public parks , CTA's and non-membership organizations
do not check this box. Private clubs, gated communities, and high performance academies usually
do check this box.
Use Newly Registered Member Landing Page: When a "member" registers on your web site they are asked to complete the member profile process. Upon completion of this process they click "Home" to return to your
"home" page.
This is fine, but kind of boring. The "Use Newly Registered Member" landing page allows you to specify a "special" page that you want to take them to. This "special" page can either welcome / thank them for registering, invite them to print a reward coupon for registering on your web site, invite them to make a membership payment to "earn" their privileged Membership type and benefits, etc....
You should develop this page in advance, and paste it here:

TIP: This page should probably be marked as Members Only and should be hidden form the rest of the system generated navigation system.
Use Logged In Member Landing Page: By default when a player logs in they end up on your home page with simply the top row of your consumer web site update to say "Welcome" so-and-so.
But these are your customers, members, friends logging in.... would you care to land them on something special? Like a custom landing page with shortcuts, tips, members only advice, promotions, coupons?
If so, simply create this page in advance and paste it in here:
TIP: This page should probably be marked as Members Only and should be
hidden form the rest of the system generated navigation system.
Show MY PAGE link only to logged in members: MY PAGE is a social networking page for logged in members (more here). For Non-logged in web site visitors it is a general search page that helps consumers "find" players, facilities, programs, demo racquets, etc.
YOU control what your non-logged in web site visitors can do (on the Community Settings tab), and this control determines whether or not you even want to show the page at all.
Use Member Expiration Tracking: There is an option in your control panel to set the expiration date for a member. There are other options that allow you or a member to "extend" their expiration date by masking a payment using a TennisCollect Membership Form.
If an "expired member" logs in, they are denied access to "Members Only" functions of your web site, and the "member" is directed to the Membership Expired Landing Page URL:
You should create this page in advance (and make it a hidden page). You describe your membership benefits and options for renewal on this page.
If you are using TennisCollect you will want to place a link on the Expired Member Landing Page that goes to your Membership Renewal Payment form, which upon completion will re-instate your "member" and advance the Member Expiration date from the current expiration date to XX months-plus based on the rules that you set up in the Membership Payment Form.
You can use Membership Expiration Tracking even if you are not using TennisCollect. You simply maintain the expiration dates manually by editing the individual Contact Manager Records (Contact Manager | Edit Contact | Membership tab):
Note: the fields with

are only present if Membership Expiration Tracking is turned on.
Registration Content
You also control the "messaging" that appears on the initial Registration page of your consumer web site (right hand column). Please see
