You can use TennisConnect for anything from a basic web site builder to a full blown business administration and communications tool.
We understand that not every customer uses every feature, so we allow you to turn off any system generated menus and to control the behavior of others.
To Turn ON or OFF the following
navigation links (system generated menus check to show, un-check to turn off), go to:
TennisConnect
Basic Settings | Web Site Settings | Option # 8 - Navigation Settings:
NOTE: This just removes the program from the system generated menu. You can still use the feature in your custom navigation. Please see the Tips below.
TIPS:
-
MyPage - allows players to access the social networking features of your web site. You can also allow only logged in members to see the menu link. Control that setting at Basic Settings | TennisConnect Basics | Option # 8 - Registration Settings -
- Calendar - presents the online eCalendar in the system generated menus. Eevn if you turn this off, you can still provide links to selected events and / or enrollment forms.
-
Court Scheduler - show the court scheduler link. Grayed out by default (requires user to be logged in to get to it), or shows if "Guest View" is turned on (Basic Settings | Tennis Court Scheduler | Option # 6 - Player Access)
-
Map - Google Maps for the main business address. If you have more than one location, you should turn this off and create your own page for maps and directions to your various locations.
-
Facility Info - database driven "stats" page on number of courts, amenities etc. This is an old page in TennisConnect. If it does not describe the amenities for your business you should turn it off (un check the box)
-
Email History - TennisConnect will automatically "post" the history of outbound group email that you send, unless you check the box:

Note: This feature is quite useful. It was implemented to save you time responding to player inquiries (phone or in person) "can you re-send me that email". Now all you have to do is tell them "it is on our web site - look it up under Email History". Another benefit emerged once the system was in use for awhile: each email is considered a "page" and is crawled by the search engines - so your email history actually improves your site rank and gives your programs even greater visibility.
-
Contact Us - displays the Contact Us form that directs consumer inquiries to designated email addresses as specified in Email Mapping (Basic Settings | TennisConnect Basics | Option # 6- Email Mapping)
This is also a very useful feature prolonging the life of your email address. Web bots spider your web pages and can "harvest" anything looking like an email address (contains @ and .). If you place your email address on your pages it is just a matter of time before you start receiving all kinds of junk mail. (See Related Article about CAPTCHA)
The "Contact Us" form on your web site uses a form to collect inquiries and route them to the appropriate address in your organization without revealing your email address to the bots.
It is also useful to allow a consumer to choose the type of inquiry they are making, allowing you to respond already knowing the nature of the inquiry. For example, if a consumer chooses "Membership Inquiry", that tells you one thing, if they choose "Quickstart Youth Inquiry", that tells you a bit more.
- Demo Racquet Center - turns the DRC menu on or off. Note that you turn it off here it is still active under "My Page". To deactivate completely please turn it off under Basic Settings | Demo Racquet Center | DRC Settings | Basic Settings.
- Catalog Link - shows the system generated link to Catalog 1.
- Player Pages - displays your membership roster of players who have elected to share their profile;e with other members of your web site. Note that this feature requires players to log in with their username and password (and to accept the terms of use of the web site), AND each players must specifically check the box to "list profile for other members".
