You can be up and running on your new TennisConnect service in as little as an hour or two by following a few basic guidelines.
- Keep it Simple. Everything in TennisConnect can be changed later and changed on the fly. So don't worry about making "final" decisions until you have experimented with a few options.
- Go Wide Before Deep. Follow the Horizontal Navigation Bar and set up a "few" of each before drilling down deep into each module.
- Start with a basic design. You cannot add fancy drop down menu's until the last step anyhow, so keep the focus on functionality and utility as you learn the system, and then consider your design options.
Our introductory implementation consulting follows the steps listed below. This is a proven way to "get up to speed" on TennisConnect and accelerate the delivery schedule.
- For now, accept the defaults in the 10-Step Setup Wizard. You should visit step # 5 and set up at least one Tennis Pro. Learn more about Adding Staff and Employees.
- Skim the basics at Basic Settings | Web Site Basics. Review steps 2 and 3. Create your own header in Step 4. If you have a logo go ahead and upload it (it will be used in the header of system generated confirmation emails).
- We already set up a few courts for you. Click Courts on the horizontal Navigation bar and make a few court reservations. If you have created a Tennis Pro as suggested in step #1 - you can also post a lesson reservation or a "lesson available" time slot for a tennis pro.
- Click on the Calendar on the Horizontal Navigation Bar. We already set up a sample event for you. Go ahead and edit, clone it, set up 2-3 other "generic" events... then start digging into the Types and Categories.
- Click on the Web Site Builder. Edit the page we already set up for you, and see the effect of your changes by clicking on "GO TO FACILITY SITE" in the upper right hand corner of the TennisConnect.org page. Add a page or 2. Explore the TCOEditor Tool Bar - especially the Pick & Click Editor.
- Add a few Contacts in the Contact Manager. Click all the tabs to see what they do. You can avoid setting up Member Types for now, but you may want to experiment with Distribution Lists.
- Click on Group Email on the Horizontal Navigation Bar. Send "all" your contacts an email (you will have the option to "uncheck" any specific names in step 2). Explore the use of the email templates.
- Click the Resources tab on the Horizontal Navigation Bar.
Going through the steps above will help build your confidence and familiarity with TennisConnect. You can circle back around going a little bit deeper into the menus each time, and/or call or email us (
support@tennisconnect.org or open a support ticket to request a consultation).
There are other steps you should take before "going live". Please refer to the
go-live check list online or in the
Implementation Guide.
