Uploading Contacts using CSV lists (MS Excel)
UPLOADING CONTACTS USING CSV LISTS (MICROSOFT EXCEL)

By far the best way to manage a data base is to have your players enter their data.  We recognize that you need to be able to communicate this to the first, and you may have some lists that are not current players (they may be prospects, or former players).

To upload a CSV List (Comma Separated Values, a common Microsoft Excel format) please go to Horizontal Navigation Bar:  Basic Settings | Group Email (third column, third box down) | Option #5 – Upload CSV Lists:

Click The Upload CSV link

To upload a file of contacts in the CSV format, you must first prepare your contact list.  Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.  TennisConnect customer service personnel can help you out the first couple of times through, however if you will be uploading lists on a regular basis you should have an Authorized Service Provider help you if needed.

NOTE:  The most common error is when you do not name your columns exactly as described (FirstName, Lastname, EmailAddress, InternalCustomerID* – no spaces)

The second most common error is when you have commas in your data.  When creating a CSV file (comma separated values) Excel moves data into each column and the places a comma between the columns to indicate "next column".  If you have a comma in your data the CSV file will become warped as each "filed" will be moved over one postion and you will end up with last name in the email address field for example.

All fields are required.  If you do not have a value in a field, create one (example: fname, lname, noemail@myemail.com, not in use)
You may upload your contact First Name, Last Name, Email Address and Internal Customer ID.  Any additional fields require your contacts / players / members to register on your web site and accept the terms of use.

Once your file is ready to upload: Go to Horizontal Navigation Bar:  Basic Settings | Group Email (third column, third box down) | Option #5 – Upload CSV Lists:

  1. Name your list
  2. "Tag" it to one or more distributuion lists in your contact manager
  3. Browse to the file on your PC
  4. Upload

Click Continue.  Your contacts have been uploaded!  And they have been attached to the selected Distribution Lists.  Repeat this process for each unique set of contact records.  Please call TennisConnect Customer Service at 888.620.6696 XT 2 if you need help.
