Basic Payment Forms
Basic Payment Forms  (Jump to: The Consumer Experience   |   Set up Instructions)
Of the seven transaction types in TennisCollect, Basic Payment forms the least sophisticated and most flexible payment mechanisms.  These forms are designed to allow anyone (casual visitor or registered member) make a payment on your web site.

On the up-side they are great for selling one-off items to one-time or infrequent buyers.  They make the process simple for fund raising campaigns, accepting donations, selling tickets, gift certificates, or even your shop logo apparel (polo shirts, hats, towels, visors, balls, etc)

Remember that the downside to allowing non-logged in visitors to make payments on your web site is that they lack the later ability to view their payment / participation history.  So you do not want to use Basic Payment forms for your frequent / repeat customers.

The Consumer Experience
The basic payment form process is simple, but there are a number of detailed steps that we will explain in this article.

A visitor is going to choose an item, confirm the quantity, enter their payment address, and complete the checkout process with their payment method.

The software is going to generate an on-screen payment receipt, update your receipts in your database, transfer your funds into your bank account via your payment gateway, send a payment receipt email to the consumer, and send a payment acknowledgment to you via email.

1)  Consumer chooses a payment item (in this example 2 General Admission tickets)

2)  Consumers may add additional times to their "cart" or may proceed to checkout.

3)  Consumers will need to enter their (credit card) billing address (secure SSL encrypted form with Secure Seal))

4)  And enter their payment credit card information (secure SSL encrypted form witt Secure Seal)

5)  Consumers will receive an on-screen receipt for their purchase.  Links are provided to "print" their receipt.

6)  Consumers will receive a confirmation email - including custom confirnation email content that you established when you set up the basic payment form.  This is a great way for you to "deliver", cross-sell, up-sell and provide additonal coupons / purchase incentives or to promote your sponsors and brand messaging.

Set up Instructions
To set up a Basic Payment Form:

Open TennisConnect.org | Basic Settings | TennisCollect (lower left hand corner - click on the logo)

Select Payment Forms from the main tab:  Choose Basic Forms

There should be one form in the system from the initial set up.  You may edit or clone this form, or add a new Basic Payment Form (you can have as many Basic Payment forms as you need - each with a unique identifier (name), pricing, form of payment, confirmation email etc)

Add a New Form:

Tips:
Form Name:  What Consumers see
Short Description: your internal description
Fee:  Actually "cost" or "amount" - this is not a fee for using the form, it is the amount to be collected from the consumer
Freeze Fee: Check this box if you want to lock the fee (probably not on donations)
Form of Payment: Allowable forms of payment for this payment form
Show Quantity: will present a quantity option and automatically extend the pricing
Email confirmation: the "from" address that TennisCollect will use when sending consumer confirmation emails who use this form
Email Confirmation Content: the custom email confirmation content that will go into the consumer confirmation email.  You may use a template or create from scratch (nice place to offer sponsor promotions, promote upcoming / related events, etc)

Transaction Confirmation:
Four things happen when a consumer completes a payment form: The consumers account is charged and the funds are deposited in your account via your gateway (if Credit Card Online is chosen), the consumer receives a confirmation email (above), the transaction register in TennisCollect is updated, the Administrative Confirmation Email Contact receives a confirmation email.

Administrative Confirmation Email:

TennisCollect Transaction Register update:
