Problems that can not be duplicated (usually Browser / Cookie issues)
If we cannot duplicate a problem, then the problem is environmental - meaning localized to your PC or network router.
Cookie fragments are the most common culprit and can occur from not logging out, losing your internet access, or suddenly losing power (so you get disconnect fromTennisConnect without running the "logout" program).
Remedies:
- Re-enter the URL (www. your domain dot com) and see if the URL changes to something weird (www. tennisconnect / tc / admin/ not what you wanted)
- Logout. Click here: http://tennisconnect.org/tc/index.cfm?logout=yes. Try again
- Clear all cookies (follow your browser instructions). Try again
- Reboot. (Sorry about that inconvenience), Try again
- Check for new versions of stored pages (click here for instructions). Try again.
- Flush DNS - see below. Try again.
- Reset your router. You could have a URL cached (stored) on your router. You have to shut everything down (PC, Gateway, Router, Modem) and then turn everything back on.
Turn everything off for 20 seconds or more. Power everything back on allowing 30 seconds in between (at least). It is important that you re-power / re-boot everything starting (from the wall out) meaning (usually) that you restart the cable modem, then the network router / wireless router (if applicable), then the print router (if applicable), then the Network Server (if applicable), and finally your PC - this allows each "connection" in the chain to complete its network address acquisition.
Try your browser / URL again.
If this does not work, you may have a virus. Call TennisConnect Technical Support at 888.620.6696 XT 2. We will likely refer you to your local network support resource, but before it costs you money - please call us.
Flush DNS is a command in MS Windows that dumps the "high memory resolver cache" that Windows uses to load web pages faster by storing shortcuts to some of the technical under-pinnings of TCP IP.
Mac users will not have this problem.
Run the command prompt from the Start menu:
In the command prompt window, type CMD
Click "OK"
You will receive a "DOS" like window, the cursor will be flashing at the end of the command string.
Type: ipconfig /flushdns (the 8 letters i p c o n f i g then a space then the / then the 8 letters f l u s h d n s then press enter
You will receive a confirmation that you have successfully flushed DNS resolver cache. Close the CMD EXE window and ty your URL again.
Try your URL again. If this does not work, call 888.620.6696 XT 2.
